Miller Ecological Consultants, Inc. has conducted fishery assessments in a wide variety of river systems.  We are familiar with standard fishery techniques for population estimates, fishery harvest, stream inventories, fish salvage and removal,  analysis of management alternatives and literature reviews.  We also utilize progressive sampling techniques which provide quality population estimate data for all fishery components of large river systems.

• Fish Surveys
• Fish Population Estimates
• Threatened-Endangered Fish Surveys
• Fish Aging
• Spawning Surveys
• Radio Telemetry
• Diet Analysis
• Fish Stocking
• Fish Passage/Screening Evaluation
• Fish Salvage Operations
• Macroinvertebrate Scoping and Analysis
• Biomonitoring
• Rapid Bioassessment Protocols
• Sedimentation and Pollution Impacts
• Benthic Community Structure & Function
• Trophic Description and Function Analysis

In addition, we have designed studies for habitat assessments which included habitat suitability and habitat mapping.  We have experience in both warm-water and cold-water systems and are capable of working in most river systems.  We can design and conduct both short-term and long-term fisheries evaluations.

We are familiar with permitting procedures for fishery studies and can effectively work with state and federal agencies to develop sound study plans for fishery assessments.  We maintain a network of professional contacts that allows us to effectively work as team members in large scale projects.

Miller Ecological Consultants, Inc. has the capability to include other components of aquatic systems such as macroinvertebrates, periphyton and water quality as part of the overall project.  We can develop sampling designs for a wide variety of study applications and objectives.  This includes macroinvertebrate studies for biomass estimates, diversity for fish food production as well as general evaluations of stream health.  We are capable of conducting all field sampling, macroinvertebrate identification and data analysis.  Our macroinvertebrate specialists work closely with other team members during both data analysis and report production to ensure quality control and adherence to study objectives.
